It’ll come as no surprise to learn that the vast majority of Xbox Live codes from back in the day have since expired, but you might be shocked to hear that some of them actually do still work – even on Xbox Series X!
We were reminded of this by a user on the Xbox Reddit page yesterday, who shared a screenshot of a 48 hour Xbox Live Gold trial from 2006 (included with the Burger King ‘Sneak King’ game) working on a modern console.

Lots of fans have taken to social media over the past couple of years to report that some Xbox Live Gold codes – particularly those bundled with games – have worked for them, lasting anywhere from two days to three months.
So, if you’ve got a bunch of Xbox 360 games lying around and you’re in need of some extra Xbox Live Gold time, give it a try! Who knows? You might find that you’ve got a working code from 15 years ago…
