Cyberpunk 2077 has some hilarious bugs

Alright, so I think it’s safe to say we all know Cyberpunk 2077 is having a bit of a rough launch. The game is looking messy on base last-gen consoles, and players are starting to discover some of the many bugs highlighted by critics in their reviews. Some of these are genuinely quite annoying, but others are pretty harmless and often hilarious, even if they break immersion. A brief glimpse of how the sausage gets made.

The glitch currently getting the most attention on social media is rather NSFW, if you hadn’t guessed from the headline, and it involves the game’s genital options. You can view the cursed video here – but basically, V can’t keep it in their pants. If you choose to give your character a penis, it can clip outside their trousers and wiggle around a bit. It seems quite a few people have encountered this glitch, but apparently removing and re-equipping your trousers can solve the situation.

Just to make things fair, it seems a similar thing can happen with boobs, as Outside Xtra’s Ellen Rose discovered during her live stream yesterday. I guess if Regina George can work a cut-out top, you can too.

The bugs don’t stop once you enter Night City proper, however, and I’m particularly delighted to learn that NPCs drive just as badly as I do. PC Gamer staff writer Chris Livingston shared a video showing every driver crashing into the same barricade, then yelling at poor V about it. It’s less in-your-face than the genital glitches, sure, but I love the stupidity of it.

Will never progress in Cyberpunk 2077 because I can’t stop watching every single driver slowly crash into this one barricade and then yell at me about it pic.twitter.com/AqE5wbCsvT

Speaking of bad driving, freelance writer Jordan Oloman shared a video of a spectacular glitch from his review period in which a tank falls from the sky mid-dialogue. Has this since been patched out with the launch day update? Who’s to say, but a part of me hopes it’s still there.

Oh so we’re sharing #Cyberpunk2077 glitches now? My favourite from the review period was The Tank Who Fell To Earth (1976) pic.twitter.com/SanxeMJTiL

As Eurogamer’s Chris Tapsell discovered during his own time with the game, characters also have a tendency to T-pose and glide around in idle positions, sometimes standing up through the top of a car roof. Texture glitches and disappearing cars also appear to be common issues, with citizens flying around seemingly in mid-air.

Some of these bugs make me want to play Cyberpunk more, actually… #woospringbreak pic.twitter.com/mjf2u0f9zY

Various patches have already been rolled out by CDPR during both the review period and on launch day, so it’s difficult to know exactly which of these glitches remain in the game. Tapsell said he noticed a slight improvement after a patch, but CDPR certainly has a difficult task on its hands to fix the rest of these glitches – let alone sort out performance on base Xbox One and PS4.
