In a mind-blowing announcement that’s still left us reeling here at Push Square Towers, Sony has removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store until further notice. That effectively means that it’s ceased selling the title until developer CD Projekt RED improves it. The manufacturer has also promised to offer refunds for anyone who wants to request one.
But what about those of you who don’t want a refund and want to play the game you’ve paid for? Well, the Polish developer says that you’ll “continue to receive support and updates as we continue to improve your experience”. There had been some concern, overnight, that with the title being delisted, the game could no longer be patched – that’s not the case.
CD Projekt RED has promised a new update will release within the next few days, and it’ll be followed up by two further updates in January and February. Unsurprisingly, the company’s stock price has taken an absolute battering this morning; it’ll be interesting to see what moves Microsoft makes, as the title is still currently available on Xbox platforms.
