We wrote about the possibility of Double Dragon Neon coming to Switch way back in August last year. It seems that since then, Majesco has been busy at work with WayFoward in bringing this bodacious, cult classic, co-op beat ’em up to the Switch.
Released back in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Double Dragon Neon is a fitting tribute to the classic beat ’em up series. Our sister site Push Square awarded it a mighty 9/10 at the time, so it must be good! Here’s the official synopsis from that original 2012 release:
Legendary martial artists, Billy and Jimmy Lee return in this creative re-imagining of the classic beat ‘em up, Double Dragon Neon. Fight your way through countless henchmen including Linda and Abobo on your way to rescue the love of your life, Marian! Trained in the special form of martial arts called Sōsetsuken, hunt down and defeat the evil Skullmageddon!
Classic beat ‘em up feel with new powers, new attacks, and a sinister new foe
Let us know if you plan to pick this bad boy up when it elbows its way onto Switch on 21st December with a comment below.
