CD Projekt just can’t stay out of the press at the moment, and the latest news comes courtesy of Polish outlets Gazeta Prawna and Benchmark, which report that that the UOKiK is monitoring the status of Cyberpunk 2077.

This is Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, which reportedly told the newspaper Gazeta Prawna that it intends to check the progress of the promised fixes on consoles, as well as complaints and refund requests.

Here’s a translated statement from Małgorzata Cieloch, spokesperson for the UOKiK (thanks VG247):

“We will check how the manufacturer is working on introducing corrections or solving difficulties that prevent the game from playing on different consoles, but also how it intends to act in relation to people who have complained and are dissatisfied with the purchase due to the inability to play the game on their equipment despite the manufacturer’s previous assurances.”

The worst case scenario that could come out of this for CD Projekt is a fine of up to 10% of the company’s annual revenue, although it seems very unlikely we’ll get to that point. Nevertheless, the studio now has even more incentive to ensure 2021 goes a lot more smoothly for Cyberpunk 2077, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!
