Which shops have PS5 stock for January 2021? Where can you currently buy a new PlayStation 5 console? Demand for the PS5 has exceeded supply, leaving many unable to purchase a next-gen console over the Christmas period and beyond. Sony has suggested that it will be making more units in 2021, having secured additional component inventory from some of its key manufacturing partners. As such, as part of our PS5 guide, we’re going to explain which stores have PS5s in stock right now, when you can expect new supply to become available, and what times those product pages will go live.

PS5 Stock: When and Where Can You Buy PS5 in North America?
In North America, more PS5 stock is being made available to order. Here’s when and where you can buy a PS5 in the USA and Canada:
PlayStation Direct
PlayStation Direct is currently OUT OF STOCK, although new PS5 stock has been added at random times so it’s always worth keeping an eye out. The PS5 was last available from PlayStation Direct on 17th December. Unfortunately, Sony has not yet communicated when new supply will be available in 2021, and has randomly released inventory in the past, meaning you’ll need to keep a close eye on the following product pages if you hope to secure a system.
Amazon US
Amazon is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates. As one of the largest retailers in the United States, we’re still awaiting communication from Amazon as to when it will have new supply available. Shipments are expected in January 2021, but we’ll keep you updated as to when exactly they’ll be available.
Best Buy
Best Buy is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates.
GameStop
GameStop is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates.
Walmart
Walmart is currently OUT OF STOCK online. However, we’re seeing reports that people are finding some limited success going to physical stores. If you’re able to get to one safely, it could be worth a try, although in the current climate we’d strongly recommended phoning ahead if at all possible to avoid unnecessary visits.
PS5 Stock: When and Where Can You Buy PS5 in UK?
In the UK, PS5 stock is slowly being made available to order. Here’s when and where you can buy a PS5 in the UK:
Amazon UK
Amazon UK is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates. Amazon UK previously received a batch of PS5 consoles in early December 2020, with more stock expected in January 2021. However, it’s yet to communicate when those units will be made available.
Currys PC World
Currys PC World is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates.
GAME
GAME is currently OUT OF STOCK. Please check back later for updates. As the UK’s largest specialist video games retailer, GAME is expected to receive new PS5 stock in January 2021, although it’s yet to confirm when those units will be available.
Smyths Toys
Smyths Toys announced in December 2020 that it had received its final shipment. It’s since confirmed that it will have new stock in 2021, as you’d expect, but it’s failed to elaborate when those units will be available.
Very
Very is currently OUT OF STOCK. Its website says that more stock is “coming soon”, but it hasn’t shared any further information on when fans can expect those units to arrive.
PS5 Games
The PS5 might be out of stock right now, but there’s nothing stopping you getting prepared for when the day finally comes. There are plenty of PS5 games you can purchase right now, including top notch launch games like Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
