ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, has revealed version 1.5 of the popular farming and lifestyle sim will include a new beach farm setting.
Here’s what you can expect from this type of farm, based on the description in the screenshot below:
“Good ranging and fishing, and tons of open space. Sometimes, supply crates wash up on shore. However, sprinklers don’t work in the sandy soil.”
As also detailed, there’ll be a new “advanced game options” menu to allow you to adjust certain aspects of your experience.
If you’re a seasoned player thinking of starting a new farm when 1.5 comes out, I’d like to highlight a couple of new features. There will be a new farm type, “Beach Farm”, and a new “Advanced Game Options” menu, from which you can adjust some aspects of the game: pic.twitter.com/iMnw2uGLEO— ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) December 20, 2020
In reply tweets to fans, ConcernedApe explained how beach farms would only include “some” normal soil (not a lot) and mentioned how the sprinkler restriction wasn’t “that bad” – further noting how any crop can be planted in sand and how grass grows on the sand.
When queried about “Remixed” bundles, the creator provided the following response:
“It’s a randomized mixture of some brand new bundles and also old bundles, but sometimes the old ones have variations, for example they might require different crops or fish. If you choose “normal” then it’s just the classic Stardew Valley set of bundles”
And here’s what was said about the “Guaranteed Year 1 Completable” option:
“Right now in Stardew Valley, there’s a bundle that requires red cabbage, which can’t be obtained in year 1 except by random chance at the traveling merchant, which might not happen. Selecting “guaranteed y1 completable” ensures that red cabbage seed will show up in y1″
There’s no word on when exactly Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update will be released, but back in November, the developer said it was on the “home stretch” – meaning it shouldn’t be too far off.
