Geoff Keighley has announced on Twitter that last week’s The Game Awards were a roaring success which is good news for the video game industry in general. While feelings towards the content in the event are usually mixed, the stats released by Keighley bodes well for future presentations. The Game Awards viewership was up by 83% this year, which is an incredible achievement for Geoff and the team. It looks like The Game Awards isn’t going anywhere.
This year #TheGameAwards viewership grew over 83% to more than 83 million livestreams.
This is beyond our wildest expectations; I was just happy we could even produce the show this year.
